Carthage Part Deux (French, not Spanish)
No, we didn't speak French in Carthage or anything like that, but I just felt like putting that down. We had a "Spirit filled" night as many sang and listened, (that is the polite thing to do, after all). The actual concert started at 6:30, but Jeff "Sparky" (long story) and Lee started it off at about 6:15 with some good ole hymns, straight from the hymnal, and had the audience sing along. When it actually started at 6:30, we "kicked" it off with four songs. And then right after us Canaan Bound, the "head" group, sang 8 songs, of which Gary Crawford, the lead singer, wrote all 8 of the songs. He's a very blessed songwriter! After that, a couple from CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) came up and told about themselves and ministry and a couple stories of what has happened through their ministry. They said that there's about, I think, a little over 100,000, (or more) people in the CMA ministries. They can reach people that none others would even think about reaching, but remember, bikers are human beings too who need to be reached. Who knows, they might be the next Billy Graham! And then the Faith Walkers (in whom I didn't mention in my last blog, sorry) sang about 30 minutes. They sang quite a few well known songs along with Jerusalem (sung by: The Hoppers) and they did a very good job. After them was The Revelators! I love to sing with The Revelators! Brother John Hile, the husband/Father of the group, writes a lot of fantastic songs. They sang a few of his peices along with a few others, such as, (the Ronnie Hinson classic) The Lighthouse. The Carthage singing is always a blessing to go to, (even though I had to miss out on getting to see BRIAN FREE AND ASSURANCE, my favorite group)! I always look forward getting to go there with Canaan Bound and whoever else might be there. And I enjoy seeing familiar faces from the audience, and getting to meet new people.
