Carthage 12/5/08!!!! Great fun!

WOW!! We had a great time a few weeks ago in Carthage, Missouri! We didn't sing this month, though, because George wouldn't been able to get up on the stage! Actually, we weren't even planned to be there at all, they weren't expecting us to be there! We just...SHOWED UP! lol.
They had, this month, a singing actually kind of similar to the Praise Gathering in Branson, where all the singers/choir people from the audience whom they chose to be in the choir, were all up on stage during the whole concert. It was the first time for Canaan Bound to do that at their singing, and it turned out really nice! Well, we knew each of the groups that sang so that was a blessing to see them all again! Some of them we hadn't seen in a while either!
Well, the groups/artists that were there were: Duke Mason, Canaan Bound, Ninth Hour, LeCroy Sisters (and Tiffany's daughter), The Crafton Trio, and The Revelators. Of course, ALL the songs were Christmas songs, after all, this was the Christmas singing in Carthage, it was December!
Duke Mason had to leave a little early because of a little scheduling conflict before hand, but he was able to sing a few songs! He's always one to get the crowd going! lol. He picks on Gary (Crawford) and it's so funny! You just have to be there! Duke is from the Carthage area, I believe. He travels and sings everywhere!
Canaan Bound, the host group, is always very good! We enjoyed getting to see them again! They, as well as Duke, are from the Carthage AREA, but are actually from Joplin. I don't know if I've ever actually told you who they are or not! This group consists of: Tenor: Justin Crawford, Lead: Gary Crawford (who also writes a lot of their songs, and helped founded the group), Baritone: Jon, Bass: Keith Schneider.
Ninth Hour, a quartet...er a trio that night, made up of amazingly talented guys, also sang as well! The reason it was a trio, Sam, (the group's bass singer), plays the trombone in college, (in Kansas City), and he had to be at a concert his school was having...too bad, missed him, but it was still really good! Of course, they sang 2 of my absolute favorite CHRISTmas songs, too! (O Holy Night and Mary Did You Know.) They are from the Joplin area for the most part. This group consists/consisted of (at the time): Tenor: John Wilkins, Lead: Tim Louderback, Baritone: BJ Huffman, and pianist: Matt Holt.
The LeCroy Sisters were fantastic as well, as always! They did a few songs, that were more Southern Gospelish and all, I mean, like Gold City/The martins songs, but they did great on them! And Mikaela, Tiffany's (one of the sisters) daughter, sang with them on all of the songs, and did a great job! They are from the Branson area, and their names are Tiffany and Terah!
The Crafton Trio. Enough said. :-) BUT, just in case some of don't know what I mean...wow, those girls can sing! Too bad, though...we were just waiting for Cally, the youngest sister (age 15), to bust out singing, but she kept back a little. Oh, well, they still did a great job! They are from out of the Joplin area, and their names (and ages, since they're young...well, so's Ninth Hour, but anyway)... Bethany who sings the lead usually, and she's 20; Anna who usually sings the alto part is 19; and Cally, as I said earlier is 15, and she usually sings the soprano.
And oh, The Revelators!! Some of our very good friends! ALWAYS enjoy getting to be with them in concert! Love them, we've sung so much with them and all, you'd think we'd get tired of it after a while! But we don't! lol. Well, they did a superb job, like usual... :-). They are from around the Cassville/Shelknob area. And their names and positions are: Dad...usually tenor/lead/songwriter, is John; Mom, alto, Wilma; 1st daughter, soprano/lead, Tiffany; 2ND daughter...person who runs around at the concert...lol (not completely), Brittany!
So all in all, there were 3 Johns...guys NAMED John...and 2 Tiffany's up on stage at once! Yeah, I'm weird, I like to figure out stuff like that! :-D
Well, I guess that'll be it for right now anyway!

Hope you all have a safe and blessed day!

Love y'all,
~Carol Lynn~

I knew that week that we were planning to go hear Ninth Hour (love those guys!!) - in Carthage - never dreaming that it was at the Canaan Bound monthly singing... and we were truly blessed! Duke is such a riot... but what a voice to come out of that small frame!!! You would think you were listening to Elvis Presley...! I could sit and listen to him all day...
The LeCroys were spectacular as always; the Hiles - Revelators - are dear friends (we get to sing at tent revivals with them, as well as other concerts - and my, can John Hile preach!!!), and we always enjoy being with them; the Crafton trio - who took first place a few years ago at the Crabb Festival (Callie was only 10? at the time...) - my, can they sing!; Canaan Bound are a constant treat to be with; and of course - Ninth Hour... these guys are in their second year of university... and they did their usual amazing 'job' of singing. With Tim Louderback in the lead position, John Wilkins as tenor, BJ Huffman rounding the sound out, as baritone, and Matt Holt on the piano... and yes, Sam Green, your bass was missed! but the guys did a great job anyway.
One more note about these fellows - John has just recently left to pursue another ministry; and the new tenor is Roger Anderson from Seneca MO.
And of course, as always, we topped off the evening at Pizza Hut with all the groups, etc. What fun!!!
Wonderful time - the first Friday night each month, 6:30 at the Fairview Christian Church in Carthage (the old Walmart building was 'converted'...!! lol) We - the Bryants - usually sing also, but George is anticipating total knee replacement surgery next week, and we have taken some time off... but we will be back SOON!!
Love you, Carol... Keep up the good work on the blogs!
Mom
